Trading means opening a position on the price of something — a currency pair, gold, a share — and closing it later. If the price moves the way you expected, you gain; if not, you lose.

In the apps on this site you make fixed-time trades: you choose an amount, a direction and a time. When the time ends you either receive the payout or lose the amount you put in.

Remember A fixed-time trade has only two outcomes: you get the payout, or you lose the whole stake.

Twelve words you will meet

Common mistakes

Six things almost every beginner does

01

Skipping the demo

Going straight to real money is tempting. A week on the demo shows you how the app works and how a losing streak feels, for free.

02

Depositing more than you can lose

A first deposit is often lost while you learn. If losing it would cause real trouble, it is too much.

03

Chasing losses

Doubling the next stake to win back the last one is the fastest way to empty an account. Keep the stake the same, or stop for the day.

04

Following tips from social media

Signals and “sure wins” in group chats are usually paid promotions. Nobody knows the next price move.

05

Not checking the licence

Brand names are easy to copy. Look the licence number up on the regulator's own site before you deposit.

06

Taking a bonus without reading it

Many bonuses lock your deposit until you have traded many times its value. Read the terms, or decline.

Money

How much money do you really need?

To open an account, very little. To learn, nothing at all: a demo account is free. The question that matters is how much you can lose without it hurting, because a beginner's first deposit is usually lost.
